What is CTR in Marketing and Advertising?

What is CTR in Marketing and Advertising? CTR stands for Click Through Rate, which measures the rate of clicks per impression as a percentage. A high CTR usually signifies good advertisements, a strong offer, and relevant targeting for an advertising campaign. A High CTR is vital for your Google Ads search campaigns because it improves your quality score. In addition, a higher CTR will lower your costs for Facebook Ads and LinkedIn Ads.

CTR Definition: Average Rate of Clicks Per Impression

CTR Example: Razon Mia runs an Advertising campaign. I get 1,000 clicks and 50,000 impressions. What is my CTR? My Click Through Rate for this example would be 2% because I get 2 clicks for every 100 impressions.

CTR Formula:

- Click-Through Rate equals Clicks divided by Impressions. Then you multiply that dividend by 100.
- CTR=(Clicks/Impressions)x100

What is the Average CTR?:
*It varies by industry and ad network

Estimates:
~ 2% for Search Ads

~ 0.5-1.0% for Display/Social Ads

Thank you
